Everything AI CFO Can Help You With 2026

AI CFO can help with five areas inside the 1% Club app: your net worth, cash flow and FIRE forecast, mutual fund rankings and verdicts, portfolio-relevant news, Core and Satellite Baskets and fixed deposits, and credit cards with the gift-card Store. Below is exactly what each one covers, in full depth, feature by feature, not just a summary.

Most people who start using AI CFO end up asking it the same two or three questions, then stop, simply because they never found out everything else it can actually do. So what can AI CFO do, exactly? Here is the complete list: five areas, nothing left out.

The whole list, at a glance:

AreaTry askingNeeds membership?
Net worth, cash flow & FIRE“Am I on track for FIRE by 40?”No
Mutual fund rankings“Why is this fund ranked where it is?”Yes
MF Portfolio Insights“Which of my funds are underperforming?”Uses your own portfolio data
Portfolio news“Has anything in my portfolio been in the news?”No
Core Baskets“What’s the difference between Fire and Stash?”Yes, included at no extra fee
Satellite Baskets“How has the Satellite basket performed?”No, member discount only
Fixed deposits“What would a 3-year FD at 7% earn me?”No
Credit cards & Store“Which card should I use for this?”No

The sections below go through each of these in full depth.

Your net worth, cash flow and FIRE forecast

Ask AI CFO how your net worth has moved, what your cash flow trend looks like, or whether you are still on pace for your FIRE number, and it answers from data already sitting in your account, your Net Worth Tracker, your cash flow (which is generated from that same Net Worth Tracker data), and your FIRE forecast.

You do not need to open three different screens and mentally combine them yourself. Ask “how did my cash flow look last month compared to the month before?” or “am I on track to hit my FIRE number by 40?” and AI CFO answers directly, in one conversation. You can also work through the numbers yourself first using 1% Club’s FIRE calculator, then ask AI CFO what the result actually means for your plan.

Mutual fund rankings, in full depth

This is 1% Club’s own research, and AI CFO can explain any part of it in plain language.

What the ranking actually measures. Every eligible mutual fund is scored only against true peers in its own category, never across categories, since a strong fund in a weak category is not automatically better than an average fund in a strong one. Three principles sit underneath the methodology: funds are compared strictly within their own category, each fund earns credit only for beating its category average (not for riding a market everyone rode), and the framework favours signals that are hard to fake, performance measured across many overlapping windows, not one well-timed number.

The scorecard AI CFO can walk you through:

Part of the scorecardWhat it showsImpact on the final score
Fund RankWhere the fund places in its category, e.g. 3 out of 42N/A
Overall VerdictExcellent for investing, Good for investing, Stay invested but don’t invest more, or ExitN/A
Consistency EdgeWhether the fund has consistently beaten category peersHigh
Risk Protection EdgeWhether the fund earned a better risk-adjusted return than peersHigh
Recent Performance EdgeWhether recent performance beats category peersMedium
Forward-looking CorrectionA penalty based on fund size and manager track record, to keep the score forward-lookingLow

The exact internal weights and penalty thresholds behind that scoring are not published, including to AI CFO itself; only the High, Medium and Low impact levels are shared, and AI CFO will not disclose more than that if asked.

Ask “why is this fund ranked where it is?” or “how does this fund compare to another one I’m holding?” and AI CFO works through the actual edges and reasoning behind the verdict, not just the label.

Investing on the back of a ranking. Once you have looked at a fund, you can invest directly through the app via SIP or lump sum, in Direct plans only, up to ₹1 Crore per transaction. Rankings refresh monthly, not live, since fund quality does not meaningfully change day to day.

Where the boundary sits. Every verdict, including “Exit” and “Stay invested but don’t invest more”, is a research conclusion, not a personal instruction for your specific holdings. AI CFO can explain what a verdict means and why. It will not tell you to act on it. Fund rankings are visible to 1% Club members only. The full explanation of this specific boundary, including what happens if you ask it directly, is in Can AI CFO Tell Me Which Fund to Buy?

MF Portfolio Insights, all eight widgets

If you already hold mutual funds, AI CFO can talk you through a full diagnostic of that portfolio, across eight separate widgets.

WidgetWhat it actually shows
OverviewYour total invested value and XIRR, an annualised return that accounts for the timing and size of every investment, plus SIPs from other platforms if you add them
Fund PerformanceSplits your funds into top-performing and underperforming, based on where each ranks within its own category, plus a historical illustration of missed gains from holding the underperforming ones
Portfolio vs Market PerformanceYour XIRR against a benchmark, Nifty 50 for most portfolios, a weighted-average benchmark if you hold significant debt
Portfolio AllocationYour split across equity, debt, commodity and other categories
ConcentrationHow concentrated your portfolio is across market cap, sectors and top holdings
Fund OverlapHow much two of your funds hold the same underlying stocks, specifically flagged above 60% overlap
Portfolio CostThe annual cost difference between your direct and regular funds, and what that difference has cost you historically
Tax PositionYour realised and unrealised short-term and long-term gains and losses, the inputs for planning tax-harvesting

Ask “which of my funds are underperforming?” or “how much am I overpaying by holding regular plans?” and AI CFO answers from this same data. Worth being precise about what “underperforming” means here: it is a category-relative label describing past standing against peers, not a verdict to sell, and AI CFO will explain the label without turning it into an instruction to exit anything.

Portfolio news

AI CFO can surface news relevant to your specific holdings, a fund, a stock, or a broader market move that touches your portfolio. This is worth knowing on its own: portfolio-relevant news is available only through AI CFO; it is not a separate feature sitting elsewhere in the app.

Ask “has anything in my portfolio been in the news this week?” and AI CFO flags it and explains why it is relevant, the same way a well-read friend might send you a link with a one-line explanation. The news comes to you as context. It is never framed as a signal to act, and it is never presented as 1% Club’s own market opinion.

Baskets, Core and Satellite

If you don’t want to pick individual funds yourself, AI CFO can explain 1% Club’s two kinds of ready-built portfolios.

Core Baskets. Made of direct mutual funds, built and actively managed by 1% Club under its SEBI-registered Research Analyst licence. Three baskets, each mapped to a different goal horizon:

BasketGoal horizon
FireLong-term goals
All-weatherMedium-term goals
StashShort-term goals

Invest directly through the app via lump sum or SIP, no lock-in, and included in membership at no separate fee. Performance shown for Core Baskets is backtested, modelled historical performance, not returns actually earned, and AI CFO will always describe it that way.

Satellite Baskets. Currently Indian equities, researched and managed by partner SEBI-registered analysts, meant as an alpha allocation alongside your Core holdings. Invest by linking your existing demat account, with one-click rebalancing through your broker. Pricing varies basket to basket; non-members pay full price, members get a discount. Performance shown here is the partner analyst’s own historical track record, not 1% Club’s, and again, past performance, not a promise.

Either way, AI CFO can explain what a basket is built to do and how its performance has been measured. It will not tell you to put your money into one basket over another; that decision stays yours.

Ask “what’s the difference between the Fire and Stash basket?” or “how has the Satellite basket performed under the partner’s track record?” and AI CFO explains it plainly, without pointing you toward either one.

Fixed deposits

AI CFO can help you explore fixed deposit options and work through what a specific tenure and rate would actually earn you. Ask “what would a 3-year FD at 7% actually earn me?” and it walks you through the maths, principal, tenure and rate combined into a real number, not a generic formula. FDs are open to everyone, not gated behind membership. As with any FD, deposit safety is subject to standard DICGC coverage limits, currently ₹5 lakh per depositor per bank, and AI CFO will not describe FD safety as going any further than that limit.

Credit cards and the Store

Beyond investing, AI CFO covers the full credit cards feature, card recommendations, hacks and ways to optimise your spending, along with the gift-card Store. Ask “which of my cards should I use for this purchase?” or “what’s this gift card worth in points?” and it answers using your actual card details, not a generic list pulled from nowhere. Like FDs, this is open to everyone, no membership required.

What needs membership, and what doesn’t

What you getWithout membershipWith membership
Your own PFM data (cash flow, net worth, FIRE)YesYes
Fixed deposits, credit cards, StoreYesYes
Investing in mutual funds directlyYesYes
MF rankings and individual fund verdictsNoYes
Core Basket research and investingNoYes
Satellite BasketsYes, full priceYes, member discount

So a non-member can already use most of what is listed above. Membership specifically unlocks the research layer, fund rankings, verdicts and Core Basket access, on top of everything else.

What AI CFO doesn’t cover yet

AI CFO does not have access to 1% Club’s Learn section, courses, events or posts. It cannot summarise a course or answer questions based on anything in Learn, because that content simply is not something it can see. Ask, and it will tell you it cannot help with that yet, rather than take a guess.

What should you do next?

Pick one thing from this list you have never actually asked AI CFO about- your fund overlap, your FIRE forecast, whether a card is worth switching- and ask it directly. That is a faster way to find out what it can do for you than reading any more feature descriptions.

Open the 1% Club App and ask AI CFO about the one thing on this list you didn’t already know it could do.

The bottom line

AI CFO’s scope is wider than most people realise on their first conversation with it: five areas, one place to ask, real data behind every answer. Download the 1% Club App if you don’t have it yet, and see how much of this list you can put to use in a single conversation.

Disclaimer

AI CFO provides educational information and research context, not personalised investment advice. Mutual fund and Basket research reflects 1% Club’s own analysis and, where applicable, a partner research analyst’s track record; Core Basket performance shown anywhere is backtested and not a guarantee of future returns, and Satellite Basket performance reflects the partner’s historical track record, also not a guarantee. Fixed deposit safety is subject to standard DICGC coverage limits, currently ₹5 lakh per depositor per bank. For advice specific to your situation, consult a SEBI-registered investment adviser.

FAQs

Can AI CFO track spending from my bank account automatically?

Cash flow inside AI CFO is generated from your Net Worth Tracker data, so once your accounts are connected there, AI CFO can talk you through the resulting trends without you tracking anything separately yourself.

Does AI CFO cover stocks I hold outside a Basket?

Portfolio news can cover a specific stock relevant to your holdings, and MF Portfolio Insights covers your mutual fund portfolio in depth. AI CFO’s structured research and ranking coverage is specifically for mutual funds and the Baskets built from them.

Can AI CFO invest money on my behalf?

No. It can explain research, rankings and Basket mechanics, and you invest yourself through the app, via SIP, lump sum, or a linked demat account for Satellite Baskets. Nothing is executed automatically without you.

Is fund overlap something I need to worry about?

AI CFO can tell you when two of your funds cross the 60% overlap threshold, which means they may be doing a similar job inside your portfolio. What you do with that information- consolidate, hold both, or leave it- is your call.

Will AI CFO tell me if I’m paying too much in fund costs?

Yes, the Portfolio Cost widget shows the annual cost difference between your direct and regular plan holdings, and AI CFO can explain that figure. It will state the cost factually without instructing you to switch everything to direct.

Does membership unlock everything in this list?

No. Most of this list- your own PFM data, FDs, cards, the Store, and investing in mutual funds directly- is already open without membership. Membership specifically adds fund rankings, verdicts and Core Basket access.
